How Is Indoor Air Quality during Sleep? A Review of Field Studies

چکیده

This review aimed to provide an overview of the characterisation indoor air quality (IAQ) during sleeping period, based only on real life conditions’ studies where, at least, one pollutant was considered. Despite consensual complexity air, when focusing environments, available scientific literature is still scarce and falls a multipollutants’ breathed sleep. review, following PRISMA’s approach, identified total 22 that provided insights how IAQ period in conditions. Most focused carbon dioxide (77%), followed by particles (PM2.5, PM10 ultrafines) 18% pollutants such as monoxide, volatile organic compounds formaldehyde. high heterogeneity between (regarding geographical area, type surrounding season year, dwelling, bedrooms’ ventilation, number occupants), several showed exceedances limit values established guidelines or legislation, indicating effort should be made order minimise human exposure pollutants. For instance, considering guideline World Health Organisation 10 µg·m−3 for PM2.5, 86% this registered levels above threshold. Considering people spend third their day sleeping, may have significant impact daily integrated exposure, due higher amount time, even if environment characterised lower pollutants’ levels. Improving current knowledge sleep different settings, well countries, will allow improve accuracy assessments also understand main drivers tackle them.

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

Indoor air quality in public utility environments—a review

Indoor air quality has been the object of interest for scientists and specialists from the fields of science such as chemistry, medicine and ventilation system design. This results from a considerable number of potential factors, which may influence the quality of the broadly understood indoor air in a negative way. Poor quality of indoor air in various types of public utility buildings may sig...

Indoor Air Quality

The issues of indoor air quality are complex and can be directly influenced by a number of system and building parameters. There are no universal solutions for every problem since there are numerous potential contaminant sources. They may originate from indoors and have a direct impact on indoor environmental quality, or they may originate from outdoors and be transferred by a mechanical or nat...

Indoor air quality.

Complaints in modern buildings have been attributed to inadequate ventilation for the last 20 years. Few data exist to support this claim. In fact, few studies have actually looked at ventilation and complaints at the same time. These missing studies indicate a failure of three groups of professionals, physicians and health scientists, architects and engineers, and scientists knowledgeable in e...

Indoor Air Quality Measurement

A qualitative assessment of indoors air quality is presented, by the use of an electronic nose consisting of a gas sensor array, a data acquisition system and a pattern recognition system. The gas sensors are sensitive to gases polluting the indoors air but they are sensitive to indoors temperature and humidity as well. The data acquisition system overtakes the sensors specific response and out...
